The plant, designed for research purpose, was ordered by the Department of Systems Engineering and Automatics. Based in this asset, and using artificial intelligence concepts, a research about biological nitrogen removal control will be carried out.
The reactor has a capacity of 100 Liters. The plant is designed to reproduce at pilot scale a Ludzack Ettinger configuration (DN-N process). In addition to the sensors usually mounted in full scale plants (flow meters, dissolved O2 and ORP) the plant incorporates advanced instruments (Total Organic Carbon, Ammonia and Nitrate)
