DTD has recently carried out the contract with AENA, in order to revamp and commission this facility.

The startup of the process,  based on a sequenced biological reactor, has been very difficult due to the special characteristics of the influent. The plant treats a portion of the domestic sewage flow of the airport, but also the discharges of the waste holding tanks of the planes. This effluent is characterized by high concentration of ammonia, organic load and salinity. In addition, the requirement of nitrifying and denitrifying has been a challenge successfully overcome by DTD.
